Executive and Team Performance

The importance of aligning people and process with the corporate culture is essential in enhancing organizational health and promoting competitive advantage. Highlights from this Waterstone Human Capital Corporate Cultures Study in 2004 show that, of the executives interviewed:

  • 99.9% believe there is a direct correlation between corporate culture and financial performance. (This is also an accurate belief, borne out by financial data).
  • 65% do nothing to measure corporate culture.
  • 92% believe that corporate culture is based on values and behaviors.
  • 60% said they reward results... even though "results" is clearly not a behavior.

This is a paradox: these executives' beliefs are at odds with their actions.
